Improved Image Handling In QuarkXPress (PPC)
|
If you import images into your QuarkXPress (PPC) layouts, then this XTension is one production tool you shouldnt be without.
With the addition of Precision Preview XT (PPXT) to your QuarkXPress (PPC) toolset, a powerful set of picture handling and production tools are at your fingertips.PPXT lets you import three powerful file formats directly into your layouts: native Photoshop files, Live Pictures native file format (IVUE), and the new FlashPix file format.
Additionally, PPXT adds a professional RGB to CMYK color separation engine to XPress. Now, at print time, you can separate using any one of our 25 built-in separation tables, or use your own favorite separation tables. You can create special effects, view progressives, check dot percentages, even apply on-the-fly unsharp masking using the same controls you use in Photoshop.
Never again will you lose valuable production time jumping back into Photoshop to separate those RGB images that somehow slip through the cracks. And best of all, your original images remain untouched intact and safe giving you the flexibility to make creative adjustments as your output needs change.
But this production tool does more. Much more.
Let's face it, you don't really like the pixellated previews in your QuarkXPress (PPC) documents, do you? No one does. Well, PPXT fixes them. Now you have the option to shoot past the low resolution screen previews, and actually see high resolution picture data, in your layouts, regardless of view magnification. Thats why our users describe this technology as having ATM for images.
Now you can accurately see problems in your documents before you output. Is there a gap between an image and its border? Did you just crop too much of that image or not? Is everything really aligned? You can even import bitmap files, and see them exactly like theyll print. And you can position type over images precisely, without having to pull laserprint after laserprint. By catching problems BEFORE film and a proof, Precision Preview XT pays for itself as soon as you start using it.
