Koyosha Graphics of America, Inc. (KGA) today announced it is shipping Enhance Preview XT(TM) 2.1.4 (EPXT 2.1.4), an XTension software module which provides unparalleled high resolution previews for QuarkXPress 4.02 and higher. KGA is offering the upgrade free of charge to EPXT users users who purchased the product before March 18, 1999. Enhance Preview XT 2.1.4 provides crisp, clear previews that dramatically increase creativity and accuracy for graphic designers and production artists using QuarkXPress 4.0. This latest upgrade from KGA features highly enhanced speed, improved stability, augmented network support and full compatibility for the new QuarkXPress 4.0 clipping path technology. "The combination of the Enhanced Preview XT and the new clipping path functions in QuarkXPress are a natural," said Don Lohse QuarkXPress product manager. "Getting higher resolution previews of pictures makes working with the paths a lot easier and more precise." EPXT 2.1.4 enables users to view color, grayscale and bitmap (line art) images at high resolution, vastly improving the standard screen previews available in QuarkXPress. At magnifications of up to 800% in QuarkXPress 4.0, EXPT 2.1.4 displays high resolution images equivalent to those seen in Adobe Photoshop. The new EPXT upgrade also greatly improves results from products, such as Extensis' BeyondPress (XPress to HTML), Gluon's XPressImage, Vision's Edge TIFF Export and ALAP's ShadowCaster, all of which take advantage of EPXT's enhanced screen previews when generating their files. "EPXT should stand for 'An Essential Prepress Extension!'" exclaims David Blatner, author of The QuarkxPress 4 Book (Peachpit Press, 1998). "With improved resolution and accuracy provided by EPXT," explains Mark Sangster, product mangager for KGA, "there are substantial savings of both time and money when creating documents in QuarkXPress. Now you can softproof your designs and layouts without needing to constantly output to a printer and view improved color accuracy for CMYK. Most importantly, EPXT enables you to catch image-related problems before they cost you money." Pricing and Availability Registered users having purchased EPXT version 2.1.3 prior to March 18, 1999 are eligible for a free upgrade to EPXT version 2.1.4. This offer is available through May 18, 1999, and applies to all users, including purchasers of 5 and 10 packs, site licenses and international customers. To receive this free upgrade users should contact KGA at 415-283-1800 or email requests to xt_sales@koyosha.com by March 18, 1999. After this time, the EPXT 2.1.4 upgrade will be available for $49.
