Enhance Preview XT 2.2.4 Update (480KB) New!
Significant performance and stability improvements [July 1, 2002]
Requires 411FixIt XT (Quark.com) for use with QuarkXPress 4.11
The EPXT 2.2.4 update includes the following improvements:
- Fixes enhancement problems with CMYK and grayscale TIFF files that contain transparency or alpha channels
- Improves compression of grayscale and line art preview cache files
- Improved image quality for enhanced previews output to ink jet printers.
- Faster display of enhanced pictures, even with the Antialiasing and Sharpening filters enabled. Display speed is up to 20 times faster than with previous versions of EPXT. Although this will benefit all users, customers using older CPUs will see the most significant performance enhancements. Now you can keep your enhanced previews turned on all the time!
- Fixes for several minor display problems found in previous versions (including white pixel dropout that occurs in some scaled and rotated images and stray dots that occur in the background color of some colorized line art pictures).
- More efficient memory usage in low-memory configurations.
- Improved image quality for enhanced previews output to ink jet printers.
In addition, this update also prevents the occurrence of save-related and picture update-related problems that were introduced with QuarkXPress 4.1 (i.e., the -35 and -43 errors).
